What happened to the Solent weather today

I'm brand new to boating and haven't a clue!

Do any of you guys 'park' at Port Solent? Any tips?

Is there anything social happening that my husband and I can attend to 'make friends' :)

We've just purchased a little fishing boat for a family hobby

Last year I was at Trafalgar Wharf just across the way from you.
It's only about 20 to 25 mins to the Solent and quite a relaxing ride. The Solent forts are all in easy reach. Wooton is worth a visit. Just don't go on a low tide. Mooring on the sailing club pontoon just to the right of the ferry. Pay 5 pounds to the sailing club for the privilege, you can grab a pint at the sailing club or walk up the hill and to the left to a great pub. Cowes is not too far either and worth a trip too.
Just watch the weather especially the wind forecast. It can get quite choppy out there in the Solent.
