A Good slipway

On Sunday we went down to somewhere that I've not been to for Ages. West Bay (Bridport) in Dorset.
Since I was there before they've built a new slipway, complete with pontoon. It also has no public access so you don't get kids wandering about.

What's the car parking/trailer parking like?

Trailers are left at the top of the slipway, loads of room. Cars in the local car park which is 5 minutes walk away.

Day Launch seems to be £18 which is not bad.

• Car Parking for Marina Slipway

After launching your boat, you can park your trailer in the area at the top of the slipway. However, your car must be parked in one of West Bay's car parks. The main Long Stay car park for West Bay exists to the left of the mini roundabout as you enter the village. A second Long Stay car park is located behind East Beach at the next left turn. A small Short Stay car park exists on the Mound on the western side of West Bay. Short Stay parking is also available along the Esplanade behind West Beach.

Chirst that has changed, we drove past in June but didnt bother to go in and have a look as the last time we stayed in Bridport it was a prefab fish n chip shop caravan park. that actually looks like its worth a visit and the camp site is 1/2 decent or it was. only trouble would be were to go as its un sheltered and cliffs both ways Portland to Lyme Regis. would have been good with Betty.

It is exposed but a run to Portland on a nice day is worth a trip. Lyme Regis is quite a run and, as you say the rest of the coast is a bit exposed. Not to be recommended in a stiff SW.
