It's the little things...

by Matt13 » 01 Jul 2016, 13:11

Currently down at the boat checking things over , a week ago I had a chap look at why my engine always needs jump starting, an ongoing issue forcing me to go through 2 battery chargers over 2 years and it looks like it might be sorted, different batteries and a lesson on which battery to switch over to and when and it started first time.

Hoping it lasts and the charger is actually working , time will tell.

Was supposed to be at Mercury for a month from Wednesday , the weather and life has meant a change of plans, need to start justifying having this thing otherwise it's bye bye boat.

I feel for you Matt. We've had some great seasons since we've been at Saxon together but this is not one of them.

The answer to that is simple. Go to the boat get on or in her and go out :) Sod the weather if that is what is holding you back

Exactly where I'm at!!
Not as easy as just goin out, no fun to be had in howling wind and pourin rain. Certainly won't win the wife or boys over!!
Solent can be a nasty place when the weather is blowing.

Exactly not as easy as just going out, my kids are not bothered about going down to the boat and definately dont want me to start the engine up, im lucky if we manage a 6knot plod up the river but they are really not that keen, my wife can take it or leave it also. Ive done years of singlehanded stuff and while its nice on occasion I prefer the social aspect of it, so unless, the weather, work, training, family life, friends availability are all not aligned then im not going out.

Last time that happened was an awesome trip out about 6 weeks ago, who knows when the next one will be!

If I had a sealine 34 it may be a different story, I wouldn't care what the weather was like then and the boys wouldn't notice either... :D
One day!! :!:
