Day trip to Poole

by mlines » 12 Jun 2016, 21:18

We took the predicted flat calm on Saturday for a quick trip to Poole.

As forecast it was cloudy but completely flat and still. A great trip out with a picnic and meal moored up in Studland Bay.

And a real surprise bonus, our old Bayliner 185 "Witch Way" was spotted in Swanage having just been bought from Walton by a young guy who is keeping it at Shell Bay. Its back to the sea where it belongs....

It was no way that calm in the Solent so you chose right on location. Cowes to Portsmouth was a bit bouncy but Portsmouth to Hamble was bordering uncomfortable (but have been out in much worse) Sun only appeared for 5 mons a8 om though so you made good on that one

Looks like you had a great time. How warm are those waters because although the kids swam up in Anglesey it was still a bit to chilly for me to want to give it a go.

Cold enough for a wet suit, but pleasant enough
