Trailer for your SIB

by Bigplumbs » 09 Feb 2016, 18:04

Ever keen to spend all of my money on this boating lark. I now feel the need for a trailer for my 2.6 m Waveco. As I think you all know I am intending to keep my Fletcher on a swinging mooring during the summer and use the waveco as a tender. I was thinking that rather than blow the tender up and deflate it each time I would get a little trailer to tow it along on. I suppose also you could put it on a roof rack but don't fancy this much.

Any one else do this and if so what and where did they get their trailer

My experience of a dingy trailer is the tender, if it's softfloor, takes one helluva beating. Mine rubbed clean through on a single trip and now sports a patch on a non inflated part.

check it out....

However, Anglesey marine do a kit form one for £400 if you wish to repeat my mistake.

Bruce

Thanks for the information. I never thought of that. I was also thinking of buying a box trailer and actually putting it inside it. I only have about 15 miles to travel each way. I will think again

I find a top notch air mattress inflator blows it up in under 3 minutes, finished off with a foot pump. Still a faff, but I'm not sweating and knackered by the time I'm in the water especially if you have tender wheels on the transom so you can just wheel it down, engine and all.

I use a jobe high volume inflator. I thought they might be rubbish as they look like a plastic toy but it inflates our dinghy and tube toys in minutes.
