Mercruiser 3 ltr Oil fill point

Nothing is simple these days. I was about to do the oil change in the main engine and now I am confused. older engines seem to fill the oil in the same place as a car on the top of the rocker cover, mine has a plastic reservoir on the right of the engine like you get with the easy drain system. Min only seems to have half of the easy drain system so I am wondering if this is where you fill the oil.

So simple question is where do I pour in the oil

It looks like you have exactly the same generation of Merc 3.0 as us.

Ours has the fill point on the rocker cover, near where the translucent yellow fuel pump sight tube crosses. The plastic recevoir (if I've understood your question correctly) is the sterndrive oil header tank.

Me thinks I have answered my own question. That little bottle is the stern drive oil reservoir

you're spot on one the Gen2 drives have the reservoir bottle, my understanding is it is was put there more to see if the stern drive oil is leaking more than keep it topped up.
