Some new equipment for White Angel

by MartynG » 03 Feb 2016, 20:10

Some new bits and pieces for the boat have arrived recently

All essential stuff of course ........................ or if not essential well worth the expense .

I guess we are all inclined to spend our hard earned cash on all things connected with boats.

Interesting! A transponder.. I pondered over one of those, but decided I didn't want to be constantly watched haha (although I know you can turn them off)

The tender is a Waveco 230.

Don't expect it will get a huge amount of use but the wife wanted something to be available in an emergency.

The AIS - I do want to be seen by others as the Humber is fairly busy with shipping and some fast boats associated with the wind farms. I would also hope it would have the potential to help others locate me if required. As said it can be put into receive only mode if wanted. I hope this will not be too difficult to fit. I expect the biggest job will be fitting the antenna.

Nice AIS does tempt me. I also have exactly the same tender (but branded wetline/waveline? 230 I think?) Same bag as yours and everything. In fact I had to get some new oars, as I snapped mine rowing against a strong current (that was interesting)!!

The tender was relatively inexpensive compared to other brands .No doubt you get what you pay for.
