What would you do if........

What would you do if you had a spare £60,000 and needed a new car and wanted to buy a boat?

Marine mortgage!! Are you daft. Seen their APR's? The bank will finance a boat at a 1/3 of their APR.... if you've been a good boy that is.

I'd put 50k towards the boat. But you know how I feel about this. If you want to pay the massive overheads of what the market considers desirable, as opposed to true worth, go right ahead, but with 50k you can get a cracking boat without going to the bank for a loan. Just put in the leg work and lots of it, travel and dont be afraid to barter like hell. It's your bucks, not theirs, if they want it they must deal with you.

Also depends on what you need your car for. How much you reply on it and also how practical you are with repairing it yourself. Or not as the case may be.

Clearly this spare £60k is troubling you. I can help you with this trouble. I will take on the £60k and relieve you of the problem :)

I seem for once to be in a majority!

Never having spent more than 3K on a car (and usually around 2K), I'd blow 58K on the boat and budget 2K for the car! Unless of course I could get away with spending 60K on the boat and walking everywhere... :D

You could always spend £59.9k on the boat and then buy a pass for the number 12 to the marina
