Solent Boat Rally 2016

by ColinR » 01 Jan 2016, 13:08

Definite yes from me nick. I'll happily get there on the Friday and help with meet and get stuff plus anything else you want help with as I am local. I would prefer an MDL marina as that would be free but am happy to pay at Swanwick to be with the gang.

I'll kip on the boat.

I'm in but will be weather dependent solely due to the journey round from Portsmouth. If it's a howling gale with horrible seas i will have real trouble convincing the family that it will be fun..? :?
When are you planning to have definite yes or no's / deposits?

Balls. Can't do that weekend as I'll be in exmoor for half ironman.

Will keep an eye out for any others that might happen.

Well done Nick - sounds good. I will be there if work permits and should have a better idea towards the end of this month, so will follow with interest. :)

Hi Stu,

I will pop down to the marina to see what they require in terms of deposits/payments etc. I don't know their refund policy (if there is one).

I don't plan to be banker for this (remember splitting bills + no shows in a restaurant!!).

Also, if everyone independently books then this reinforces the idea it is not an "official" rally which entails event insurance which would add further costs. Its just an informal get together in essence!

Sorry you can't make it Matt, if it goes well then there will be more next year.

Nick, absolutely agree with both points! it will definitely make it easier if everyone books their own mooring etc.. more than happy to go with that.

Hi Nick

This sounds good to us. Pease let me know when you have gone firm on the date and we will book some accommodation, as at 14' the boat is a bit small to stay on!

I will have to bow out if this one as I'm pretty sure we are booking lomond for the week before but I'll keep an eye out.
