Monterey in the UK again!

by Ianfs » 03 Dec 2015, 19:19

Gibbs Marine are to be the UK importers of Monterey. :D An interesting bit of competition for Cobalt, which they also sell.

This in from Gibbs........................

Gibbs Boat Sales are proud to be the sole UK distributor for Monterey Boats. With a strong and loyal Monterey following, we felt it was important to bring the brand back into the UK.

During the past two decades, Monterey Boats has established itself as a true frontrunner when it comes to designing, developing, engineering, and building superior boats for the conscientious marine consumer. Much of our success can be attributed to the fact that Monterey is an independently owned and family operated company. This promotes quick reaction to market conditions, efficient decision-making and implementation, as well as a hands-on approach to the process of new product development as well as customer relations. When you purchase a Monterey you are not just a new customer, you are considered to be a new family member.

Wonder if they will have any deals as a 'new dealer'
Could sell me a 204FS if price was right ........... but I'm guessing new prices will be way to high ........... looked at other stuff they sell and it is a straight case of take US price and change $ to £ plus price of trailer on top (£3k)

For a 204FS that puts it around £48,000 too much for me based on number of weekends I can use it.

its strange as they have Regal, Monterey and Cobalt boats all within the same product portfolio, indeed all within the same showroom. Whilst the various partisans on here will express a view as to which is the best (of course the answer is Regal) in truth all of the boats are in approximately the same market, I would have thought they would have had brands that put them more across the market from low end day boats to fishing/specialist and to large cruisers. It seems strange to have all your products as mid-range American sports.

I can understand the differentiation ...

Regal for lower mid range, Monterey for upper Mid and Cobalt for high end .... but a strange mix to have in one show room.
