Good weekend ahead?!

by argonaut » 25 Sep 2015, 20:46

I'm planning to be out riding t he SkySki ........... nit ideal conditions ... 12-14 mph Easterly .... worst possible direction for me ... no cover in the bay.

But will give it a go ... not enough of the season left to pass up on chance :)

An absoutely stunning day out. So glad we all went. Some super smooth condition and some slightly challenging. Went from near Longstone and met up with my mate Malc around cowes and we both literally flew down to the needles in near perfect conditions, with the Fletcher performing fantastically. Anchored up in a beach area near the needles (name escapes me) had some nibbles, and chilled. From here went for a play on the south West corner of the island, looking at the rocky chalk cliffs, then flew back up the solent and down to the folly in for some tea.
The return journey from here was dark by the time back at cowes so we made the trip back by moonlight. Totally awesome!

Looks like another good weekend ahead. Some cloud about but forecast is for lighter winds than late.

Again looking poor for me ... Easterly wind chops up too much.

It was lovely in Portsmouth today, I went down to give the boat a check over as its been a while, clear skies, little wind and really hot!! I took the cover off and ran it up and was so tempted to go out for a ride but just didn't have time.
It was horrible having to put the cover back on.

Going to Poole tomorrow as speed restrictions are lifted, looks good enough to head round to Christchurch or perhaps look for dolphins off Ballard down

We don't have any speed restriction in any of the waters I boat in ............ an usually get the whole 7mile bay to ourselves, and maybe one raggie. Or any of the Gower bays.

Change of forecast for Saturday - wind now dropped dramatically for tomorrow, now only 4mph and swinging to Southerly at full tide ... so 0900 launch on the cards :D

The limit is only in the harbour, Poole bay is unlimited. Its for safety in the summer and as it is a large area its fun to zoom around in the winter.
