Could be a goer. Any decent pubs around? Especially ones that do food?

I met that earlier this year too!

Good call though.

I assume he means the Bramble Bank, I'm more familiar with Ryde Sands :D

An exclusive club 8-)

It was quite eery seeing the water draining away over the sand and certainly gave us the incentive to get pushing

Well done the lads (and lass), a great recovery job. Polishes the prop too :D

I Saayyyy Colin!!

The number of times you and I must have been around there in the years we have owned boats, it must have been a sort of Russian Roulette at which point would we get stuck! More to the point I suppose, as my old Grandmother used to tell me and did I listen, "familiarity breads contempt".....

So, what were we talking about, oh yes pubs and food.....loads!

We have some great "PUBS", great beer, great beer and great beer and some great pubs with great beer and some outstanding food, but we would have to get a taxi, one of which is 4.5 miles, great Thai food as well as great English at reasonable prices, a real pub though with proper people. Also several other Pubs are 5-6 miles and great beer and food, but there is a very dangerous pub within staggering distance, I'm talking maybe 200 yds (yes yds not those silly metery thingy's) with "Good" beer and "Good" food...take your choice!

I'm sold.

Do you want to make a new thread proposing a forum pub meet in January? Bags I a room at your place.

We can use it as a planning meeting to kick off some water based meets later in the year, as well as just a change to catch up and have a natter.

Yep, but as you all know me very well, I absolutely never take credit for someone else's idea.

It was you who created the 2015 approaches, but then Martin who suggested a pub meet. If you are both happy then I'll start another topic, but would feel more comfortable with the owner starting it. :)

Would definitely be up for some meets next year. Would like to finally get to Poole by boat, up for another Round the Island, and any other sporadic meet up .

Ill hopefully be doing another Mercury stopover, this time with all the family.

My Plans for next year:

Nights onboard at Mercury
Round the island ( well maybe just half of it this time ;) )
Week in Yarmouth in July
Henley Regetta Fireworks
Henley festival
Numerous trips to Poole to hopefully meet up with Centeur and his new boat

Pub meet sounds good. Still owe Matt some trips after him letting us on his boat this year.
