Boat Sold!!!

by sprocker » 16 Oct 2016, 13:40

Well she's gone, well at least I've accepted an offer.

As I have sold her privately, with no Broker or Dealer involved, can anyone suggest a good Bill of Sale template?

In the section about how much was paid, people seem to just put:

"One pound and other financial considerations".

rather than the actual amount.

and you're transferring 64/64ths.

Score through section 3

Your signature on the back needs to be witnessed too.

Otherwise, you're good to go!

Out of interest, mine said the same, but why 64/64th's?

So what is coming next then? Eye'd anything up or just taking the early step so you're in the best position should something come up? :)

Ha, this has been a really tough one Stu. We have spent months agonising on what type of boat we should move to, the main criteria being more space, and a more 'social' boat than our MF645.

After doing lots (LOTS) of research, and taking in advice from boaters that are much more experienced than me, we have decided that we will go for twin diesel around 30 feet. Thats as far as we have got at this point in time.

Although we are drawn to the Sealine S28, it is proving a problem finding one that has been looked after as much as our boats are. Once the sale of ours is complete, we can start our search seriously.

This is a puzzle that we have had all this year. We set a budget which is not necessarily what we can afford but a realistic amount based on moorings and maintenance. It's tougher than we thought, we are thinking 30ft or above and nearly bought a Fairline Targa 29 but walked away because of the lack of answers about servicing and upkeep. Although one of the engines was being overhauled because it melted a piston, the reasons why the owner ignored the overheat alarm when he has 2 engines and that the brokers were shocked too was enough to say that this boat may be a bigger money pit than normal.
However I would like an old Nelson or something with a Nelson hull design so I can use it in the channel/Solent chop more than average, but the Admiral wants sports boat looks and wizzy entertaining bits. :D
