Last day ?

by argonaut » 04 Oct 2016, 10:44

Had a brilliant run out on Sunday morning ......... at 0745 launch, was the earliest I have ever put boat in the water.
Even empty parking spaces on teh road - so didn't have to pay to park 8-)

What amazing conditions .... less than 5mph wind, bright sunshine, cloudless sky .... we had 3 Hrs of the whole bay to ourselves ............ where have all the boaters gone ?

Not sure how many days are left this year .... but had a blast

I bought it when knee damage stopped me riding a kneeboard.
It has a very steep learning curve ... esp when no one to learn from.
Described as learning to juggle, whilst riding a unicycle downhill, blindfolded.

No strength needed ... all about core & balance.

Imagine you are on a pivot.. any movement off centre and you fall ... and the pull is constantly changing, water forces changing, wind changing.
Any movement amplified by the 40" t-bar, the 2 foils react very quickly ... skyrocket you out of the water.

Once you get it right it feels so natural, it moves as part of you.

The 3 others on the boat been trying for 3 years ... and not get up yet.

If you want to give it a go- welcome to come and have a try.

Mmmm. Maybe not. Core strength you say? With my spare tyre? Maybe it'll give me back that six pack I had when the Mrs and I first met and she fancied the socks off me, .... and other garments. Dang! What am I saying? Sign me up!!

Amazing Rick, that should be an Olympic Sport.

Such delicate movements which involve muscle memory and when the line goes slack it's knowing when to stay slack or when to pull up, wow! Great video and tutorial, thank you.
