Late afternoon jaunt

by shibbs » 13 Sep 2016, 21:52

We decided to make the most of the 'hottest day in September for 50 years' , or whatever it was supposed to be. I have to say, it wasn't quite as nice as i was hoping, mainly because of the wind. But, we decided to poke our nose out and have a look with the intention of heading over to the beach for a BBQ, play then back.
It was a little bumpy but we decided to carry on over, and due to the wind direction, the sea state and wind dropped as we got about 2/3 of the way over.
Got to the beach, jumped in and pulled us right into knee depth and disembarked to the beach.
A simple BBQ, bit of a play in the sand and with the dog then home, a nice afternoon / early evening.
The journey back was much smoother and quite pleasant, about 26/27 knots steady on the return.

All in all, a very nice few hours, back in just as the light was disappearing.
