Kevin Mole Outboards - IOW

by NickT » 16 Apr 2016, 07:56

I popped over to Cowes this week with a friend so that he could discuss the repair to his outboard which has died (even though it is only about 2 yrs old).

Kevin showed my friend the problem with the engine and whilst he was doing that I had a mooch around his small chandlery.
Sitting on a small trailer was a Honda Honwave inflatable with a 5 HP 4 stroke engine. The story is that a customer bought it 8 years ago and took it abroad where it was stored in a container.

It did look like new with no sign of rust on the wheel nuts at all.

I have a zodiac and outboard already but it is a pain to inflate and pack up so as a result it isn't used as much as I would like.

Sooooo I made an offer and collected the boat yesterday.

The point of my post is to really highlight Kevins service to me and my friend.

The engine repair is subject to a warranty claim but there are very difficult issues to be resolved and Kevin is doing a magnificent job in resolving this with the manufacturer. Also, when we picked up my new boat everything was ready and the engine was test run for me. All paperwork was done in a flash.

Even my wife enjoyed the experience! (maybe it was the day out on the IOW that did it).

If you are in Cowes needing assistance then I highly recommend him. http://www.outboards.uk.com/

Nice post Nick. I like posts like this one where someone has gone over and above, plus it's useful to all.

Nice boat too, looks new. You're gonna start rumours of a bigger boat to use it as a tender.
