Navionics on Android

by Bigplumbs » 26 Mar 2016, 09:15

I have navionics on my Ipad but it won't work at sea as I only have the ipad wifi which does not have Gps. I wanted a cheap pad to leave on the boat and the Samsung Galaxy tab A fits the bill it has gps and Glonas but I was wondering if any of you know if it will run navionics.

The compatibility list on the Navionics website is very short for Android and I can't believe they are the only tabs that it works on

I run navionics on a Nexus ok and used to on a Samsung before that. I think it is pretty compatible with most android machines.

I have run it on all my android devices for years through different android release and different devices with no problem. On of the devices had no GPS and it worked fine with a GLS Bluetooth puck.

Why not connect it through your phone using your hotspot?

Just bought the Galaxy tab A and this is what I am using now I have downloaded Navionics UK and Holand HD and it seems to be working very well

Also pleased with the tablet seems every bit as good as my I pad at the moment

Took it to the coast and it found its location very quickly. I think this is going to work well

Do you have a waterproof cover for it.? Also how are you mounting it on the boat?
