It is looking good. We've got the van booked to move house this weekend, so can't get out of that! Although, I've got a funny feeling that we will be trying to break a world record by moving a whole house in a morning... just so we can get out on the boat in the afternoon!!

Your enthusiasm astounds me. I literally have to drip feed my o/h the idea in stages before she will willingly come out hahaha.

We've got a full weekend of boating planned! Lets hope the weather holds true to the forecast.

Friday evening - Across the bay to Brixham for fish'n chips.
Saturday - Around the coast and up the River Dart, with a stop off at Dittisham for lunch. Overnight in Dartmouth area.
Sunday - Around the coast to Salcombe.

Best laid plans and all that.........

Ha ha, Ed you are not alone there. If we had the larger boat now, Laura would be arranging our weekend for us to be on it, but with the little boat I have to sow the seeds well before hand.

We've got friends coming over on Saturday to watch the Rugby with us, but I've slipped in that its going to be a cracker and want to take the boat out possibly Sunday or Monday. Assuming the boat is fine from the last outing, it should just be a hitch and tug, possibly to Newhaven again, only because its and easy jaunt from here.

ahh now I have a problem, need no O/H encouragement but where to go is always a 'discussion'. do we make a 3 hour drive to Shoreham or Hamble (tempted but she (boat) hasn't been to sea in 2015  ) or the norfolk broads for a special trip - damp & not so warm and slow speed AGAIN or go any slow river locally nice but yawn  .

Haha some great comments!

Perhaps with a larger and more comfy boat Claire will see another side to boating! But right now im trying to save and also convince her that a bigger boat will not be more effort if its left in or near the water....

At sibs we had a play on the new sundancer 265... Wow! Both loved that, but don't want to wait 15 years for it to depreciate enough before I can afford it lol.

I have to say wrt effort of boating, over the last 10 years or so I have both berthed and trailered boats. Even with the last one which was 18ft, it made for a long day launching and recovering etc all in one day. Ignoring the obvious benefits of being able to keep a boat on a trailer of which there are lots, I would struggle to go back from having the boat in the water ready to go ( dry stack would however still be my first option).
With the boat in the water it literally is just a case of decide to go out and go, the only time being the time it takes to get to the boat. Because of this we have had so much use this year, even with the relatively poor summer we have had. I would certainly recommend it, and the added option of staying onboard (albeit a squeeze) is fantastic.
Additionally, with the extra size we now have, the whole family all seem much more at ease and comfortable onboard even if the weather turns.

There is a very easy answer here re boating as with life. Say yes more than you say no and go out in your boat whenever you can and don't make excuses

In Mallorca at the mo and I saw two boat names that are very true:

One Life ...... Live it

Life is for living

I knew a chap once who his friends called Reg............. It stood for Random Excuse generator

Also if you have not already done so watch the film Yess Man. Or just follow Anna's lead who is an inspiration as far as I am concerned
