Sealine S24 Sports with a Kad32

by mark101 » 15 Jul 2015, 15:51

Colin - do the S24, my thoughts mirror yours perfectly coupled with the fact it you really want to, it can be trailered to other parts.

I too considered boat sharing but have dismissed this completely due to the fact that I want to leave my stuff on board and use the boat precisely when I can/weather opportunity, not when a rota tells me to.

I might be slightly jealous if you go S24, although I love the S28, always have but again double the maintenance costs and if you ever need to replace two of those engines, it would cripple me.

I know you have been through the ringer before on this, are you sure you want to do so again?

The admiral and I were talking about it yesterday afternoon and as you say have previous experience of it, which wasn't good. One thing which came out of the discussion though was that the big difference is who it is with.

You are quite right about choosing the right partner. They would need to be as knowledgeable as you with similar income and interests.

Still not discounting an MF if the right one came along. Joka is not sold yet so its still pie in the sky at the moment unless a deal can be done.

I'm having a look at the Sealine on Saturday, hopefully, so will update then. This weekend is looking good for boating, especially Sunday so I'm determined to get the family out for a trip somewhere. I need a fix to up the enthusiasm levels :D

We had a quick look at that boat when we were searching for our MF, nice all round condition.

The problem with the inboard diesel MFs is that they are possibly a bit too sedate. 17 knots cruising and 22ish max. I think the outboard versions are better because they have more stowage where the diesel lump would be and they are quite a bit more sprightly.

Too much choice

Thats exactly the reason that we decided on an outboard MF Colin. The outboard powered variations are also a lot quieter than the old diesel lump.

This one looks pretty good and at a decent price. Unsure of what the engine is though??
A lot of boat for that price I think.
Too big??

Plenty of room in that engine bay for access. Unusual to be a single at that size.

Looks like one for Ian?

Reading the ad he sounds a bit desperate to sell so might even drop a bit more.
