A bit before my, boating, time. I think I first went to a boat show around 1974 or 75.

Some nice boats there, of their day. I wonder how many are still in use.

ahh I wish it was like that now, a bit before my time, I was 2 months old , I think they should have a 196's weekend / area at the show to spice it up a bit, lots of mini skirts and high heels, and a few young ladies dressed in shiny vinyl as well  :o

My wife (Joyce) and I did visit that show, but better remember the 1967 show as that is where we bought our first boat. A Loftus Bennett 19' for self fitting out.
We collected the boat (hull and superstructure only) from their works in Garstang (Ithink), had the boat for about 10 years, fitted various engines to it and ended up with a 6cyl inline Mercury 95HP outboard on a boat that the works rec. HP was 40!!! I did have to reinforce the transom somewhat, but boy that boat did fly.

I always felt that it was safe, but some of the German locals used to refer to me as a "selbst mord pilote" (suicide pilot). Geoff.
