Fishing and ladies rarely mix well. It's something to with gutting the fish, for some reason that seems to conflict with their ideas of a nice day out on a boat

Having said that we took my niece out, 9 years old. Chuffed as anything when she caught her first mackerel and had no problems gutting it and chopping it up for bait

I got a rollocking when we got back from the boss when the blood and guts was spotted on her nice dress

Start em young I say, before they get into bad habits like laying about drinking prosecco

No reason why you cant fish from a cruiser. Admittedly my boat the lower cockpit seats fold away creating desk space but I dont actually do that. Instead move to the swim platform for casting and retrieval while having a good sit and drink waiting for the bite. Also the deck makes a hge platform that I send the wife and kids to that they can make as big a mess as they like on because I have a pump and pressure washer onboard and just spray the mess off afterwards.

As for wives and daughters fishing. Start them off on maccie bashing and you soon have a convert. Mine did and they're pampered puff balls that you'd never have believed would take to it.

Another excuse for a bigger boat, that way it is easier to have a sunbathing / lounging area separate from the blood and guts fishing area
