What a difference a day makes.

by Ianfs » 12 Nov 2016, 12:56

Yesterday was glorious sunshine and calm seas. Matt and James got out and had a great time on Eljay. :D

Today its miserable wet and windy....yuk! :(

Tomorrows forecast is sunshine all day though. :D

Great pic. I'm in the doldrums. On Thursday Amanzi gets lifted out and the boating season stops, the maintenance season begins. :(

First on the cards is a manual scrape off of all old AF back to gelcoat. :? Not looking forward to that.

Is it around this time that you wish you had a 14 ft bowrider Bruce?

I'm interested in knowing how you get on with the AF removal, which scraper & method you use etc. We are closing in on the purchase of our next boat and I intend to remove all the AF this winter if it all goes ahead.

I managed to find a reciprocal electrical scraper, as opposed to a oscillating multitool, which I hope will be as good as the original and now discontinued Bosch PSE-180 Electric-Scraper. Made by Skil Masters I believe it is a continuance of the original Bosch unit under license and it looks like a quality piece of kit once I had it in my hands. Finding a Bosch PSE 180 on Ebay etc is like trying to find rocking horse poo but you can still get blades for them and they fit the Skil Master. Here's hoping it's not all Skarsten scraper and manual drudgery.
