We missed that size and wet from a S23 to a F33 , and pleased we did - it has transformed to comfort factor of our boating.
Twin engines does of course double the cost of fuel and service but the boat can be controlled much more easily - bow thruster too.

I do like the s28 but there do seem to be a lot of well worn examples. Good luck with
This one looks okay

or perhaps consider an older model such as this 310 - it has ad31's so no rocket ship so perhaps price negotiable

.

I am interested in the S23 because I want to be able to tow it with my Disco and remove it to my land for the winter to keep costs down. Did the move from 23 foot to 30 odd rocket costs up

I've been watching Tom Cunliffe on You Tube recently, it annoys the Admiral a bit because she wants to watch her Nashville and stuff on Sky Atlantic. I'm gradually working on it though because we've also been watching La Vagabonde about an Aussie couple sailing round the world.

Yes, I'm still thinking about the Dark Side!!

As I keep telling her the 70 mile trip round the Isle of Wight would only cost a few pence at 6knts rather than a few hundred pounds at 25knts. Then there's trip to Salcombe, Weymouth, Torquay and Padstow, all free if there's enough wind.

So far she has said absolutely NO WAY JOSE! However the other day she said....."Maybe if we go out on one, I might like it".

Well after another weekend of looking at boats (Something that I usually really enjoy!) I was getting decidedly hacked off.

Why oh why do some people expect to sell their boats when they have made absolutely no effort to prepare them, two of the boats that we viewed this weekend had mouldy food in the fridge, one had mouldy something in the microwave, 80% had mould inside the covers, around windows etc, 50% had dirty carpets with . All things that could quite easily have been rectified with a little time and effort. The thing that gets me is if the bits on show are neglected, how neglected are the expensive oily bits that you can't see???

And don't get me started on the brokers!!!!! On asking the question "Do you have the service history available?" came the answer "No mate, I don't know anything about boats, I'm just looking after the office for the weekend for them".

Luckily, one particular broker put more than enough effort into showing us a very (VERY) nice boat, in very nice clean condition, offered to turn on the electrics and start the engines for me, without being asked. In fact that one viewing made up for all the rubbish we have seen over the past month.......to be continued.
