Hi all,

We are based near Goole Marina and although not new to boating we have just bought our first sports cruiser ( Maxum scr 2300 )
We would like to have a trip out to sea, maybe spurn point ? Just a little jaunt but would prefer to go with some other boats for safety etc and fun.
I'm just taking my RYA navigation and seamanship and have booked my powerboat 2 for next spring so although I have some idea I'm not over confident.
So if there's anyone up this way would like a trip out in a group let me know before winter hits
If it's got Tyres, Tits or goes on the water it's going to be expensive

Hi

If you're on a trailer I'd invite you to Conwy but no way I can get to you without steaming all the way around. Welcome to the forum.

Hi Stevie

Hows things and hope you and the family are well?

Looking at maps, if you have got a trailer its not far to trail to Bruce across land, he is very experienced and would be very safe to team up with for a cruise. If you haven't got a trailer then maybe Gazjen (one of our Mods) might be a safe bet, if he can get to you. How far are you from Manchester, Nick (one of our Admins) is there and maybe will team up?

Having looked at Spurn point it's a very nice spit protecting the Humber Estuary before the open sea into the North Sea and has shipping channels so plenty of water regardless. as long as you don't venture too close to Cleethorpes on a low Spring tide. :D

It's good to have you with us and I hope you enjoy your Maxum, they are great boats.

H guys and thanks for the welcome!
I've not got a trailer unfortunately so I'll be staying up north for the moment.
I've been up and down the Tidal Trent a couple of times in the past but the oh isn't quite as gung-ho as me about heading out into the sea alone.
I will keep you updated when we do get out !

Your a friendly bunch which is always nice lol

The chief officer and I attempted a few times to do the Humber with others and were let down.
Our first trip to Hull was out of Goole and we led that . The boat we were with turned up the Trent and with did the run to Hull alone . Perhaps a trip to Hull would be sufficient to test the reliability of the boat ?
